Logical Drift remixes “Rain Queen of the Negev”

Over the years, John Matarazzo of Logical Drift has worked on major records, and performed with popular acts (Blood Sweat & Tears, Bob Dylan, Ike & Tina Turner, Sly & The Family Stone, etc.) where he was then led to work on more conscious and spiritually driven projects helping to create pioneering recordings of ambient and electronica music (John Zorn, Jah Wobble, Mick Harris and Buckethead).

From the days of experimenting with psychological compositions and electronic music elements instituted by Karl Heinz Stockhausen and Pierre Boulez, Logical Drift remixes their newest single “Rain Queen of the Negev” with electronica/dance production, merging their talents within this genre with psychological dreamscapes and aural environments designed to evoke spiritual responses from the listener that may heighten the listener’s overall growth in spirituality.

Synthesizing sounds in acoustic laboratories, Matarazzo was able to develop a palette of unique and emotionally resonant sounds from simple sine wave generators overlaying harmonic spectrums and resonating filters that infused evocative and sensual aural landscapes and alternative worlds.

Combining his knowledge of ancient spiritual systems, psychoacoustics and aural imaging, he composed soundscapes that heighten the listeners’ sense of wellness and tranquility; stimulating the Chakra portals, thereby carrying the listener on a journey toward greater awareness and aliveness. His aim is to author music that will provide an important map for our wholeness and transformation, both personally and globally by opening the Chakra paths to enlightenment and integration.

Two Spot Gobi: New Single “Tomorrow”

Newest Two Spot Gobi radio single ‘Tomorrow’ was produced by the legendary Niko Bolas (Neil Young, John Mayer, My Morning Jacket) at Jason Mraz’s home studio.  Mraz joins Two Spot Gobi on the album version, though not featured on this radio edit. ‘Tomorrow’ was recently performed on BBC Radio’s ‘Sunday Sessions’. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton took notice over Twitter and posted the track on Perez  TV, drawing a tremendous positive response.

In early Fall, the band will be coming back to Cali to play at select venues across the state, as well as launch their non-for-profit music program called Music Set Free in the states. Logical Drift radio single “Rain Queen of the Negev”

After gaining major support from popular Internet radio properties (1Club.FM, AccuRadio, AOL, GotRadio, Pandora, Slacker, Yahoo!),  LOGICAL DRIFT gets ready to launch a terrestrial radio campaign of their first single ‘Rain Queen of the Negev’. The 10+ minute album version has been edited down for the New Age and World Music radio formats, while a couple remixes are in the works to target specialty shows programming Ambient, Electronica, Meditation, Relaxation and Spa music.

Logical drifters John Matarazzo and Logan Strand create an aural biome filled with muscular beats and the seductive Diva siren calls of the vestal dance, designed for immediate immersion in a 120bpm chill-out dance groove. Matarazzo explains the track as, “Rain drops dance through the Negev desert in early spring. The Nabatean rain queen announces a celebration for the desert dwellers that begins along the ancient ‘Spice Road’ at dusk as the wadis are filled with the rushing flow”.
